Rhythms Magazine
Multi - award winning guitarist/singer/songwriter Matt Dwyer has been wowing audiences across Australia and overseas for close to two decades.
By the time he was in his mid twenties heâd already become a respected veteran of the blues and roots scene as a member of seminal band The Bondi Cigars as well as a solo artist.
Since then heâs released two albums - the 2007 release âWho Loves Yaâ was critically acclaimed, scoring Album Of the Year at the Vic/ Tas Blues Awards as well as securing the Artist Of the Year Award. Ken Williams of Melbourneâs The Age called it âCertainly my album of the year.â High praise indeed. 2011 release âItâs A Jungle Out Thereâ only solidified Dwyerâs reputation as one of the best in the business.
Matt Dwyer is clearly an artist in a class all his own.
One look and youâll be hooked.
MBAS moving week.
There will be no Feature Artist or Jam whilst we move and establish existing
and new sound equipment in our awesome new and bigger venue, the Flemington
Bowls Club.
Come and celebrate with the Committee, the opening of the new MBAS
Tuesday Night House of Blues home. Our fantastic new venue will have a grand
opening featuring Jimi Hocking, Catfish Voodoo, Dreamboogie and Miss Whiskey
(both doing a return gig from their trip to Memphis).
Note: No Jam this night. Starting time 8.00pm
Featuring: Sweet Felicia & The Honeytones - 8:00pm - 8:45pm
There's the Cocoon Bar along Swanston Street (go in Soul Cafe and head up the stairs) which is open monday-saturday from 4pm onwards. It's a really nice chic little lounge to relax.
But... I don't know how busy it gets on a weekday. You could always check and if you don't like it, you could leave. It costs nothing to enter anyway.
