UPDATED:Line-up announced below.
Melbournian lovers of underground tunes of the house, techno and booty variety are in for a treat – as of Saturday August 23 there’ll be a new weekly club night in town, Juke, taking over the bandroom at the Prince of Wales.
Masterminded by the people behind Loud Entertainment (Fake Tits, Lockdown Jail Rave), Survivor! Club of Legends and Seven Nightclub, Juke is promising a “weekly rotating roster of the most revered local DJs the Melbourne house and techno scene has to offer” as well as at least one international guest a month “from labels such as Hot Creations, Crosstown Rebels, Cocoon, Diynamic, Defected, 8Bit and Cecille.”
“Melbourne has some great events but no real weekly outlet for the sort of underground house and techno that we like, ” promoter Kyle Hands said in the press release, “so we decided to do something about it.” That means a weekly roster of residents like Melbourne legends Spacey Space and Acid Jacks through to young guns like Jack Love, alongside international guests like Mannheim’s tech-house technician Nick Curly. Check out the full line-up (so far) below.
