This is the story of a Downtown Dallas nightclub called Plush, a spot that always felt a little out of place, was always mocked and, somehow, seemed to be doing pretty well for itself just the same. Hey, lines of people waiting to get into a spot don't just appear, y'know?
They had rap shows sometimes. People got dressed up to go there. From time to time, it was quite the spectacle...
And that's not to be discounted. A little money came in and out the door.
Enough where the doors stayed open for five years, at least. And, hey, success like that can be an intoxicating thing.
But the thing about nightclub concepts is that they just get stale after a while. They lose their appeal.
Which is why the team behind Plush decided to give themselves a long, hard look in the mirror and wake the hell up...
And think and think and think and think.
Eventually, though, they would land on a concept.
Then, right before the renovations were about to kick off, they dropped the real bomb: The club would celebrate its final night (as Plush). And then, right once the bar closed that Monday, the real plans would be revealed. Plush would be closing. And it will become? Gatsby.
The cost of Plush which is a dance club in Dallas, TX has a price range of $$ which equals $11 - $30 per person.
