A village cricket team's biggest day ended in tragedy when one player died and three were seriously injured in a minibus crash as they drove home from an awards night at Lords.
Eight members of Uphill Castle Cricket Club in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, traveled to the home of cricket for the presentation on Monday night.
The club's under-19s team had won the first-ever NatWest T20 'Club of the Year' trophy.
But within hours of the ceremony their minibus careered off the M4 as they headed home, killing the front-seat passenger.
The driver and two others are being treated in Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital with serious injuries, one with reported spinal injuries.
Three other men are being treated at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
Police said no other vehicles were involved as the Citroen minibus left the carriageway near Reading, Berkshire, on Monday night.
Thames Valley Police said the deceased's next of kin had been informed and formal identification was due to take place today.
A tweet on the club's official page on Tuesday read: "Thank you for all the lovely messages on this sad day. We very much appreciate it. #CricketFamily."
