The Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando is more then just an amusement park with roller coasters and other rides. The resort also encompasses waterways, shopping and dining. You can even hit the dance floor at a number of venues, including one that accepts guests of all ages.
Venues
Walt Disney World has two places where you will find a dance floor for guests. While many of the amusement park's organized shows have dancing by professional performers, guests are expected to sit at these shows and merely observe. At the Atlantic Dance Hall and Mickey's Backyard BBQ, however, you can take to the dance floor yourself.
Atmosphere
The Atlantic Dance Hall is a night club serving alcohol. Set within an art deco ballroom, this club is replete with balconies that overlook Crescent Lake. In addition to playing music, the Atlantic Dance Hall also shows music videos at your request. Mickey's Backyard BBQ is a more family-friendly place; guests can dance with their favorite Disney characters, including Mickey and Minnie, to the songs of a country western band. As its name implies, you can also eat dinner at this picnic-themed venue.
Location
The Atlantic Dance Hall is in the Boardwalk area of Walt Disney World, which sits in the heart of the park's attractions. Spanning more than 90, 000 square feet, Disney's Boardwalk also includes shops and restaurants. Mickey's Backyard BBQ is within Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, just north of Epcot. This part of Disney World was one of the park's first accommodation areas.
Considerations
Because Atlantic Dance Hall serves alcohol, you must be at least 21 years old to enter. You don't need a reservation to get in, though you'll have to wait in line if you arrive at a busy time. The Backyard BBQ site is open to guests of all ages, but only operates from March to December. You don't need to visit the amusement park to enter Disney's Boardwalk and the Atlantic Dance Hall. To get in to Mickey's Backyard BBQ, you must buy a ticket through Walt Disney World Resort guest relations, guest services or a concierge desk. If you are not staying at the resort, you can still book reservations with guest relations either online or over the phone.
Nope, not all of them. You guys can only go to the Adventurer's Club (which is actually really fun) or Comedy Warehouse. All the other clubs require you to be 21.
Disney has not had problems with gang activity, just groups of rowdy teens; there has been no link to gang activity. And the Ale Houses are no safer; a couple was abducted from the Orlando Ale House on Colonial & Kirkman in Orlando. Disney property is much safer, in my opinion.
But, since you will only be able to get into two clubs, you can also have a fun time at the House of Blues, which is usually all ages. Also remember …
Parc Soleil by Hilton Grand Vacations Club is located on 52 acres off of Palm Parkway in the heart of the attractions in Orlando.
